Hey fam! I don't know about ya'll but I am ready for Wash n Go season! I have never been a huge Wash n Go fan because of all the steps required to achieve one (or so the natural hair community says). 3-4 products on my medium density, low porosity hair is just an absolutely no go. Too many products weigh down my hair and crunchy hair is also a no for me. I also hate that applying so much product tends to cause a ton of shrinkage and kind of leaves your hair stuck in that shrunken place -- one wrong fluff and BOOM its a hot, frizzy, poorly shaped MESS. Wash N Go Hydrate & Define Conditioning Cleanser
The first step to any Wash n Go is CLEAN HAIR. While I dont reccomend cowashing as your sole method of cleansing, it's definitely ideal for the summer months when we get hot and want to refresh our hair but its too soon to shampoo. This Conditioning Cleanser has some intense SLIP. You'll be able to detangle your hair with ease and feel that your hair will not only be gently cleansed, but also super hydrated (a super important element of Wash n Go's).
This Wash n Go Kit hydrates your hair from start to finish. You'll see that after cleansing, your curls will appear shinier, feel very lightweight, and super duper soft. You'll have the urge to just stop where you are and go about your day (which you probably can! but dont!)
Now it's time to Deep condition... (yes, over here in these parts we deep condition EVERY TIME WE WASH -- including when we COWASH).
The Slip Hydrating Deep Conditioner
The Slip Deep conditioner is the holy grail of Hydroquench Systems, although many of us can agree that ALL Hydroquench Deep conditioners are the bomb. This super duper hydrating deep conditioner provides SO MUCH SLIP and so much softness that it's literally unbelieveable. This is legit my all time favorite deep conditioner ( I used to be a huge fan of TGIN honey miracle mask... I'd have like 7-8 bottles in my stash, but when I tried this I gave them all away and stuck with HQ). If you dont believe me, know that I have 40oz of The Slip Deep conditioner in my stash -- in addition to 16oz bottles of every other deep conditioner HQ has to offer. I'm not just selling you something because it's my job, I'm literally putting you on to stuff that I genuinely love.
I will say that if you have SUPER parched, super dense 4C hair, part you hair in about 6-8 sections and apply this deep conditioner liberally on soaking wet hair to get it to work at its full potential. Put on a shower cap and if you have one available -- a deep conditioning cap to get some heat going. (Natural hack: The beauty supply store sells these $2-3 aluminum foil shower caps that generate heat through your body heat)
Anyways, this deep conditioner is a MUST HAVE.
Wash n Go Hydrate n Define Elixir
The Wash n Go Hydrate n Define Elixir is a miracle in a bottle. I may be one of the few naturals who say that but I HATE gels. I mean theyre the very last thing I reach out to use to actually style my hair doing something other than slicking a puff or my edges. I have maybe 3 gels in my stash right now that are probably going to take me lightyears to finish BUT the Wash n Go Hydrate n Define Elixir is one of those products that... i dont even know what to call it! It's not a gel and its not a custard -- its like a silky, hydrating concotion that has the same hold as a soft/medium hold gel (but without the weight, stickiness, crunchiness, and drying alcohol of gel).
This product can be used ON ITS OWN to achieve a perfect wash n go. Just section your hair into 4-5 (or more sections) and apply from root to tip. Shingle or do the praying hands and thats it. No leave in conditioner necessary because the product already has hydrating agents, no cream necessary and no oil necessary. This one product hydrates, nourishes, and defines your hair for a perfect long lasting Wash n go.
When I tried it, I was very light handed and my wash n go lasted my 4 days. It also elongates and defines your curls so you dont have to deal with MAJOR bald looking shrinkage but just enough to give you some volume without the frizz. I absolutely LOVE this product and I know you will too! I will repeat that it is not necessary for you to mix with absolutely anything (although you can mix with the texture cream but its really not necessary).
Wash n Go Hydrate & Define Texture Cream
This product was honestly made with a hand of our Heavenly Father helping Bianca to churn the product in the pot. It is AMAZING. This super duper hydrating and defining Texture Cream is a lightweight powerhouse that can be used on its own to a chieve a defined, pillow soft, voluminous and bouncy Wash n Go. It provide very little hold but a LOT of definition. If you'd rather some hold, top it with the elixir but who doesnt want soft bouncy voluminous hair on day one?
This product and the wash n go elixir are ONE PRODUCT wash n go's and even better when combined. They simplify the most saught after style in the natural hair community and I REALLY want you all to try them out.
The 5th product (the Whipped Softening souffle) is still in the works but I will have a review for you as soon as possible! $50 for 5 full sized products at 16-12oz each is truly a STEAL in the natural hair industry. I mean a 16oz deep conditioner from some companies may run you over $30.
